Your data stays yours

Pull Request Pilot (“the App”) is a Mac application developed by Julian Maurin. This policy explains what the App stores, what it sends, and how to remove it.

Data collection

The App does not collect, transmit or sell personal data. It has no account system and no server of its own. It contains no analytics, telemetry, crash reporting or advertising code.

What the App stores on your Mac

• Your GitHub token, in the macOS Keychain.
• Your views and settings: the searches you define, refresh intervals and notification choices, in the App's sandbox.
• A snapshot for the widgets: the titles, numbers, repositories, authors and statuses of the pull requests in your views, in a container shared only with the App's own widgets.
• Avatar images of pull request authors and reviewers, in the App's cache.
• The folders you add under Git Directories, as sandbox bookmarks. The App reads them, never writes to them, and only to match pull requests with your local branches, worktrees and commits.
• Diagnostic logs, in the macOS system log on your Mac. Help › Export Logs… writes them to a file only when you ask, where you choose. Nothing is sent automatically; review the file before you share it.

Other pull request data is kept in memory while the App runs.

Network connections

The App connects to two GitHub addresses, and to nothing else:

• api.github.com, with your token, to search and read pull requests and, when you ask, to convert a pull request to a draft or mark it ready for review.
• avatars.githubusercontent.com, without your token, to download avatar images.

Links you open from the App open in your web browser. Your use of GitHub is governed by GitHub's privacy statement.

Removing your data

In Settings, click Sign Out. This deletes the token from the Keychain and clears the pull request data, including the widgets' snapshot. Your views and settings are kept so you can sign in again.

To remove everything, quit the App, move it to the Trash, and delete these folders from your home folder:

• Library/Containers/com.pullrequestpilot.app
• Library/Containers/com.pullrequestpilot.app.widget
• Library/Group Containers/FNR3B372S8.com.pullrequestpilot.shared

This website

This website sets no cookies and loads no analytics or third-party resources. It is hosted on GitHub Pages; GitHub may log visitors' IP addresses for security, as described in its privacy statement.

Children's privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version will be published at this address with a new effective date. Earlier versions are available in the history of this page.
